Who Is Husayn?

A frozen city, a street of stone Two aching souls walked all alone No dream to chase, no song to sing Just tired of everything, everything My friend said, “I know a land, warm and wide Where millions walk in peace, side by side They serve with love; they make no claims Let’s try it once, as if it’s a game.” And we walked — through heat and light Through stirring days and calming nights I saw no throne, I saw no king Just hearts that beat for a mysterious thing For a name, Husayn, whispered with every breath And tales of sacrifice, love, and faith We walked, and something healed my pain But just one question echoed in my brain Who is Husayn? Who is Husayn? They gave me everything, though I was new They washed my feet as if I was holy and true They smiled at me like we had met before And loved me like a brother or even more And we walked — through heat and light Through stirring days and calming nights I saw no throne, I saw no king Just hearts that beat for a mysterious thing For a name, Husayn, whispered with every breath And tales of sacrifice, love, and faith We walked, and something healed my pain But just one question echoed in my brain Who is Husayn? Who is Husayn? Who is Husayn? Who can build such a beautiful heaven? Who is Husayn? Such a beautiful heaven Days have passed since that dreamlike road, But I still carry what it showed The city is still cold, the streets are the same But now in my chest Burns a flame
